Overview:

This certification curriculum includes both the product implementation course and the platform administration course. Successfully completing the course content and certification exam will yield the user a Policy & Document Risk Management Product Implementation Specialist certificate.

Pre-requisites: Familiarity with Policy Attestations, Exceptions and Policy Management Concepts

Once courses 1 & 2 have been completed, please reach out to your trainer at [email protected] for the following:

  1. Practice Instance: MSU will provide access to a practice instance for a duration of 2 weeks.
  2. Facetime with Instructor: Collate all questions you may have on the course and send to your trainer; the trainer may host a dedicated 1hr session to address any questions.
  3. Assessment & Certification: You are expected complete the assessment in 2 weeks from the assignment of this course

Curriculum content

  • Course Overview Policy and Document Management (PDMS) provides organizations a single repository for storage and access to policies and documents. The App also provides a consistent framework to create, manage and update policy documents in addition to capturing attestation and exception requests from users.  This course enables participants to understand and configure the app based on the business' requirements and also enables them to own and manage the app after the initial setup process.     Level – Advanced Course Duration – 3 Hours of Training Content + 3 Hours of Practice + 1 Hour Q&A with MSU Instructor  Course Completion Requirement – 2 weeks from date of assignment Pre-requisites: Familiarity with policy management concepts   Learning Objectives:  The training is focused on the features, process, workflows and functionalities of the Policy Document Management System (PDMS) application. At the end of the training, practice and certification, resources will be able to understand: §      Functional ·          Understand how to navigate the PDMS app ·          Upload, workflow and publish documents ·          Create inline documents ·          Attest to policies ·          Administer and manage the PDMS app §      Administrative ·          Define document categories ·          Define document privileges ·          Manage user access within the PDMS app ·          Create document lifecycles based on business needs

      Policy and Document Management (PDMS) enables organizations to adopt an electronic and automated approach for a complete lifecycle management of policies from creation, review, approval, communication, storage, maintenance, to obsolescence and retirement of policies across the enterprise.
    • Lesson PDMS: App Administration & Setup

      This unit covers the primary functions of a PDMS App administrator including: Creating document categories Creating document privilege's Creating & Managing user access groups Creating Lifecycles
    • Lesson PDMS: Attachment Based Document

      As an author, you can assign a document lifecycle to an existing document as well as associate references and GRC Content with the document. You can also add attestations and notification, if required. Use the Document [From Attachment] form to start the workflow.
    • Lesson PDMS: Inline Based Document

      Organizations need to create guidelines to establish consistency and standardization across documents and policies. You can achieve this by creating inline documents, which allows you to: Use standard templates to draft documents; Draft each section and sub section for a unique purpose; Request for section-level review and approval etc.
    • Lesson PDMS: Reports

      Policy users may have access to a number of PDMS reports that may be used for analysis, decision making, and follow-up actions. Reports are displayed in tabular, tile, and graphical views. You can use the report filters to narrow down the search and display the required result.
    • Lesson PDMS: Product Configuration

      This unit covers configuration topics enabling you to populate configuration workbooks, updating LOVs and Data Table on forms and defining workflow parameters.

      This unit will enable you to provision, deactivate and map users to various roles in the PDMS app.

  • This certification requires the following assessments to be completed:   Assessment – I: The test has 60 questions that need to be answered and you will have 120 minutes to complete the assessment once started. You may start this at any time before the closure date, however once started the test cannot be paused. Hence ensure that you have set aside time to complete this assessment before you hit the  START  button. 2.   Assessment – II: This is a scenario-based assessment that ought to be completed before the assessment closure date. Since there is no time limit, you may start the test right away and complete it in any order you see fit. Please ensure that all results are captured and filled before the assessment closure dates.
